Glo’s was actually plan B on Saturday around noon. I had heard it was popular, so the Black Knight indulged me and we drove across town to wait 45 minutes for a table. The restaurant is tiny, so we had to wait outside, which can be somewhat unpleasant if you’re not prepared, but we got coffee at Starbucks and wandered around Goodwill.

pumpkin French toast – made of pumpkin bread served with pecans and whip cream stuffed inside, it didn’t quite have as much pumpkin flavor as I would have liked, but it still quite tasty

Lox eggs benedict – a different take on two of my favorite brunch foods combined, the hollandaise was a little on the tart side – maybe because of the tomatoes, but I think that helped cut some of the richness of the sauce, well poached eggs with a nice runny yolk, but very firm and thick egg whites (nit picking – it’s diner food), and hash browns to boot!
Overall, it’s a good diner breakfast with some creative options and fun seasonal specials. It’s not a leisurely brunch and expect service to be a bit harried. The Black Knight also noted that this is one of the best places for fresh squeezed orange juice with lots of pulp.
SUMMARY
Overall: happily ever after
Highlights: orange juice, hash browns
Footnotes: you can call ahead of time to put your name on the list, it is crowded and busy, so expect to wait for a table and service
